"We have found our perfect cottage. This is how we'd like to live, in such a beautiful location. We'll be back... "

Welcome to Stein, on the magical Waternish peninsula; a most idyllic corner of Skye. Beachcomber Cottage is a beautiful 18th century, lovingly restored fisherman's cottage which has a large garden across from the terrace that extends right down to the shore, a wonderful place from where to watch the famous Waternish sunsets (top ten in the world!): a majestic seascape with the backdrop of the Western Isles dotted like jewels along the horizon. The cottage, which sleeps up to four people, is equally as atmospheric, built in 1750 with many period features and an open fire for those cooler nights. If only the 3ft thick stone walls could speak they would tell of many a clan battle or Highland skirmish!
Beachcomber Cottage offers high quality modern comfort and is very well equipped – a home from home! The self-catering cottage is ideal for couples or families who want to be in a tiny hamlet (population 14).
The renowned Loch Bay Restaurant, now run by Michael and Laurence Smith, and the oldest inn on Skye, the Stein Inn, are both within walking distance.
Skye affords plentiful opportunities for walking of all categories and easy motoring to the diverse areas of the Island or simply relaxing in stunning surroundings. Golden eagles and sea eagles nest near by and can be often seen soaring in the sky above you. We are also within short range of two accredited ‘Dark Skies’ viewing sites – bring your binoculars! The stars here are amazing.
At the risk of sounding deeply unoriginal we most certainly will be back! A fabulous first visit to Skye, made all the better by a perfect cottage, which was like home from home and the best restaurant we've eaten at in a long time. Thank you...
